Lakota Silver Earrings

On both sides of my family, I've been told, I have Cherokee ancestors, which makes sense considering the remnant of Cherokee that fled into the lower Appalachian Mts to escape the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma. It always makes me very sad to think of the lost cultures that we've missed out on because of the greed of our other ancestors. A few years ago, we watched the movie 'Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,' a moving story of the Sioux 'relocation' from the Dakotas that brought about a desire to create something in tribute. This simplified dream-catcher design is my small tribute to all of the Native Americans, their lost cultures and their tears. In sterling silver, the earrings have a total length of 2-1/2" and the circle has a diameter of about 5/8".
