From a childhood magic show to a necklace that floats like a whisper
When I was about six years old, my family went to a magic show. I don’t remember much about the magician—but I definitely remember what happened when my brother was asked to come on stage. The magician handed him three large silver rings and asked him to inspect them and make sure they were solid. He did, and I watched with wide eyes.
Moments later, the magician linked the rings together, then unlinked them again like it was nothing. I was blown away. I was sure it had to be real magic.
Fast-forward a few decades—and a whole lot of jewelry-making later—and I found myself linking delicate metal rings together at my workbench. And just like that, I remembered that moment. I laughed out loud at how amazed I’d been. The mystery of those linked rings stuck with me longer than I realized.

Designing the Mystic Necklace
When I started designing the Mystic Necklace, I wanted something featherlight and simple—like a little nod to that floating magic trick I loved as a kid. I used a thinner wire than I normally do, so the three interlocking rings would feel barely there. The result is a necklace that’s incredibly delicate, but still holds its shape beautifully.
It's part of my Simple Summer Jewelry Collection, but it’s also one of my top layering suggestions. Because of its airy, minimal look, it plays well with so many other pieces. Whether you wear it solo or stacked, it brings just the right amount of shimmer and movement.
